Keepers of Tradition: Art and Folk Heritage in Massachusetts

On Saturday, May 17th the National Heritage Museum in Lexington begins its exhibit called, "Keepers of Tradition: Art and Folk Heritage in Massachusetts" with more than 100 works of art from over 70 artists. The exhibition celebrates the crafts, music, dance, and sacred arts that have been passed down in long-settled and new immigrant communities. The opening reception is from 5:30-8:30pm, and as the Senate Chair of the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development, I will be giving opening remarks at this event.
