Since being elected to the Legislature in 1990, I have been a leading advocate for policies that directly affect the quality of life of constituents in my district and across the Commonwealth. These include aid to working families, progressive tax reform, health care, long term care for the elderly and disabled, and environmentally sound energy policies.
As your Senator, I am co-chair of the Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development, and a member of the committees on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and Veterans and Federal Affairs. This affords me the opportunity to develop new policies and best practices in areas that are new to me as well as to bring my experience and expertise to areas that I have long been advocating for.
I will continue my work in the Senate advocating for these issues and the news ones that arise as part of my committee work. To learn more about my views, please select from the list on the left.
